The Convento das Bernardas transformed the old Monastery of the Order of Cister into Tavira into a dwelling, which housed that religious order between the sixteenth and nineteenth centuries. The rehabilitation was carried out based on a project by the renowned architect Eduardo Souto de Moura, winner of the 2011 Pritzker Prize.
